OnePlus has officially introduced a brand new Soft Gold color option for people looking to buy its flagship OnePlus 3. The shade is available now in the US and will hit Canada, Hong Kong and Europe on August 1.
OnePlus apparently tried to go for a light and elegant look when developing the new Soft Gold edition of the OnePlus 3 in an effort to set the phone apart from typical gaudy gold handsets. It even changed the texture of the smartphone to complement the new tint, comparing the feeling of holding the device to fine silky-soft sand.
The OnePlus 3 Soft Gold is available only in limited quantities and will arrive in India soon. Other than the color, everything else about the handset remains the same. In related news, the brand has just begun rolling out a new update for the smartphone, not long after the last one fixed some major issues related to its RAM and display.
OxygenOS 3.2.2 brings a number of useful changes to the table. For starters, it improves upon notification management in Doze Mode and fixes the alert slider/silent mode bug. The upgrade also disables the fingerprint sensor when it’s in a user’s pocket and adds an NFC toggle in quick settings.
Videographers will be pleased to hear that the OnePlus 3 will now feature better noise cancellation when recording videos, in addition to the 4K video recording codec getting updated. Other than these highlights, the firm has also introduced a number of optimizations and the latest security patches.
