OnePlus 3, 3T now getting Android 7.1.1 Nougat update

OnePlus 3 Back

OnePlus began rolling out Android 7.0 Nougat for the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T back in January this year. Users who’ve been patiently waiting for an update to version 7.1.1 since then will be happy to know that the company has now started beaming out the latest version of Google’s OS for the pair.

The promotion to Android 7.1.1 Nougat is the biggest highlight of OxygenOS 4.1.0, bringing the OnePlus 3 and 3T on par with the Pixel and Nexus line of handsets. The update also includes the latest March 2017 Google security patch and features a list of improvements.

For instance, owners of the OnePlus 3 and 3T are supposed to experience better Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity once they install the upgrade. The company claims it’s also managed to improve video stability while recording. Clicking photos of moving objects with blur reduction has gotten a boost as well.

OxygenOS 4.1.0 further includes the ability to take expanded screenshots while scrolling and general bug fixes. Like before, the company is pushing out the update OTA on an incremental basis. It’ll reach a small number of customers followed by a larger base over the course of the next few days.

In related news, OnePlus recently launched a brand-new iteration of the OnePlus 3T dubbed the colette edition. The all-black model is coming out on March 21 and will have only 250 units up for grabs. It’s only going to be sold in Paris at the French boutique store, so the chances of buying it are slim unless you’re in the area on that particular day.
