ZTE sub-brand Nubia has officially launched the Z17 mini in China, coming after weeks of leaks and teasers starring footballer Cristiano Ronaldo. As expected, the smartphone’s main claim to fame is its dual camera setup.
The Z17 mini will be available in two variants. One is priced at CNY 1699 (approx Rs 16000) and features 4GB of RAM and a Snapdragon 652 processor. The other goes for CNY 1999 (about Rs 18700) and offers up 6GB of RAM and a Snapdragon 653 SoC. The rest of the specifications appear to be the same between the two.
Nubia’s placing a heavy emphasis on the twin 13MP shooters adorning the back of the smartphone. One possesses a Sony IMX258 RGB sensor for color photography, while the other gets its hands on a Sony IMX258 monochrome sensor for black and white imagery.
The two combined pave the path for post-production effects like blurring or focusing on certain parts of a photo. There’s also a 16MP selfie snapper equipped with an aperture of f/2.0 and 80-degree wide-angle lens. On the design side of things, the Z17 mini has adopted a slim bezel approach and a 2.5D slightly curved 5.2-inch display.
