NTT DoCoMo, has announced its partnership with internet giant, Google, wherein their partnership will focus on upgrading internet services on NTT DoCoMo’s mobile phones.
This partnership will bring Google functions into “i-mode” mobile phone-based Internet access services. That simply means that NTT DoCoMo subscribers having i-mode compatible mobile phones will be able to access Google functions through their handsets.
KDDI Corp., another network operator in Japan also has tied-up with Google on Internet search engine and e-mail services for its “au” brand mobile phones. While, Softbank Mobile Corp. has joined hands with Yahoo Japan to give search engine facilities to its subscribers.
Moreover, Google has alliances with several information and telecommunication companies globally including DoCoMo and KDDI, in order to develop Android operating system for mobile phones.
