The Indian brand behind the Adam tablet series, Notion Ink, has taken on a new venture by launching its first 2 in 1 Windows device which goes by the name Cain. The new offering is basically a 10.1-inch tablet accompanied by a keyboard dock for better productivity.
With the Cain tablet, Notion Ink will be amongst the few Indian OEMs to deliver Windows 8.1 slates. So far, we’ve got devices from Croma and iBall, while Xolo and Micromax have discontinued their offerings. Design-wise, the new tablet looks pretty attractive. It features a 1280 x 800 pixel IPS LCD on the front and a gorgeous rear panel which flaunts a brushed metal finish in grey.
The slate is 9.7mm in thickness and more than expected at 650 grams. Notion Ink has also thrown in a plethora of connectivity features including a full size USB 3.0 port, HDMI output, a microSD card slot, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0. The front and rear cameras are of 2MP.
Talking about the innards, the device is powered by a 1.33GHz Intel Bay Trail Z3735D quad core processor which is accompanied by 2GB RAM, 32GB internal storage and a large 7900mAh battery which can deliver up to 10 hours of web browsing. The keyboard dock is pretty attractive too and it features a trackpad.
