The Nokia X6 is making its way outside China starting from June 19, with Taiwan as its first destination and Russia as its second. However, there’s still a lot of uncertainty about when the handset will hit Asian countries like India.
As per Nokiapoweruser, retail sources claim that the Nokia X6 is coming to India, but HMD Global hasn’t finalized its launch and availability timeline yet. Still, they say that it won’t hit the country before August at least. This could translate to an August unveiling and September release.
Nokia X6 vs Nokia 6.1 Plus
The Nokia X6 will probably arrive in Malaysia in August as well, so HMD Global will be having a very busy month. It seems the device’s success in China has pushed the dates for other markets. One important thing to note is that the smartphone might be called the Nokia 6.1 Plus around the world.
The Nokia X6 and Nokia 6.1 Plus are expected to be the same in terms of looks and specs. The only major difference predicted is the presence of pure Android software inside the latter since it’ll be part of the Android One program.
The Nokia X5 is also likely to go through the same name change to the Nokia 5.1 Plus once it goes global. Nobody knows when this will happen though. Perhaps HMD Global will announce both at the same time to provide consumers with 2 notched phones to choose from.
