HMD Global unveiled the Nokia X6 in China earlier this week. At the time, it didn’t confirm whether the handset would go international. After some misdirection, it seems a Nokia X6 global launch is happening after all.
Shortly after the Nokia X6 arrived, a new variant of the handset showed up on a Bluetooth certification site with the model number TA-1103. This lead to rumors that it was an international version of the device. However, HMD struck down this speculation by stating that the device is going to be a China-exclusive.
It now looks like a change of heart occurred somewhere along the way. The firm’s CPO Juho Sarvikas started a poll recently on Twitter to ask whether the Nokia X6 should travel to other markets. 92% of the 8527 participants said yes.
Sarvikas then tweeted his thanks and said that the vote is conclusive. It’s possible this is just pure marketing hype. HMD likely had plans for a Nokia X6 global launch anyway. A different version of the phone probably wouldn’t have shown up on a Bluetooth certification site if it wasn’t intended for release.
Nokia X6 Global Launch Date
Coincidentally, HMD is getting ready for an event in Russia on May 29. Some say the refreshed Nokia 2, Nokia 3, and Nokia 5 will make an appearance. Others say the international version of the Nokia X6 will make its debut as well. The company may even unveil the Nokia X5 and Nokia X7.
Not much is known about the Nokia X5 and Nokia X7 right now. A source told Nokiapoweruser that the devices are coming out soon. Going by the Nokia X6’s template, the smartphones may offer superior specs as compared to the Nokia 5 and Nokia 7 Plus.
The Nokia X6 is priced at CNY 1299 (approx $204 or Rs 13835) for the 4GB/32GB model. It moves up to CNY 1499 (roughly $235 or Rs 15965) for the 4GB/64GB iteration. The most premium version costs CNY 1699 (about $267 or Rs 18095) for 6GB of RAM and 64GB of ROM.
