Nokia set to release its smartphones by the end of June

Nokia 5 Back

Nokia’s number-themed lineup of smartphones have been out for quite a while now, but very little has been said about when exactly the lineup is hitting shelves around the globe. Fans of the brand have been repeatedly asking it when the handsets will be up for grabs, only to get a generic answer stating that the phones will be available in Q2 between May and June.

May is now at an end, which may be why Nokia has decided to get a bit more precise in its answers. A Twitter user recently asked the company whether it was coming to India in June. The firm replied that it plans to release its upcoming smartphones worldwide before the end of Q2 2017, specifically June.

June is only a few days away now, so the Nokia 3, Nokia 5, and Nokia 6 should be arriving in stores soon. The tweet mentions a global release strategy, so most countries will likely get it at around the same time. Unfortunately, specific dates aren’t available as of now, though some Croatian sellers did reveal that the 6 and its ilk will be coming within the first few weeks of June itself.

Nokia’s Android strategy involves installing a very pure version of Nougat in all its smartphones, a welcome respite from the many Marshmallow-running mid-rangers available in the market today. Feature phone enthusiasts can meanwhile buy the Nokia 3310 (2017) if they want to stick to the classics. The device is currently up for sale in a couple of countries, including India.
