HMD Global just got done releasing the Nokia 6.1 Plus and Nokia 5.1 Plus internationally, but it’s not planning to stop there. The company has just certified a mysterious new smartphone via China’s 3C authority.

The Nokia handset has the model number TA-1131. It hasn’t been seen before, so it appears to be completely new. This makes it hard to pin down since there’s no information about it out there. The listing itself reveals very little, just confirming that it’ll support fast charging at up to 18W.

Nokia TA-1131 Possibilities

Allowing fast charging probably means that the Nokia device will be a mid-range or premium device. Most of the brand’s portfolio supports Quick Charge 3.0 at the minimum, so it’s difficult to narrow things down here. GSMArena suggests that this could just be the Nokia 9.

The Nokia 9 is expected to be HMD Global’s next flagship phone. The Nokia 8 Sirocco came out earlier this year, but it didn’t quite meet expectations for a couple of reasons. While the handset looked premium, it ran on last year’s Snapdragon 835 processor.

HMD Global hasn’t released a premium Snapdragon 845 high-end phone yet. With only a couple of months left for the end of 2018, it would make sense if the TA-1131 was the firm’s true 2018 flagship. Nobody knows for sure what it looks like or what other specs it’ll have.

Also on the docket is the Nokia 10. HMD Global recently got its PureView trademark back from Microsoft, leading to a number of people guessing that it’s going to release a PureView device with a high megapixel count sometime soon.

The classic PureView smartphones featured 41MP resolutions, so the new ones could match that. The Nokia 10 is rumored to sport a penta-lens setup. Perhaps it’ll live up to those numbers with a huge megapixel count of its own.
