Nokia Normandy shows up in more colors, they pop

Until now, the mysterious Nokia Normandy has only been pictured in red courtesy of a leaked image. Well, it looks like the device won’t just arrive in red, it may sport five other color variations covering white, black, blue, yellow and green.

What appears to be a press shot of the smartphone in its various hues has been outed by none other that evleaks, of course. It may look like a Lumia, but don’t get too excited yet. In late November, there were rumors about this handset being a Lumia-Asha crossbreed.

Nokia Normandy More Colors

Then came the surprising story about the Normandy being a mid- to low-range device running on Android. ‘Yea right,’ right? Nokia’s fate seemed to have been sealed the day it chose to go with Windows Phone instead of Google’s mobile OS. There will be legends written about it!

But there was yet another twist in the tale not more than a fortnight ago. The Finnish company has apparently dropped the Android project in favor of wearable technology. That’s where the money will be in the future and now that Microsoft’s the big daddy, whichever dissenter at Nokia was keen on Normandy would have had to obey the command.

Leaked Nokia Normandy

So what’s this new leak all about? Is the smartphone still in the pipeline? Was it never meant to be an Android device in the first place? Or did evleaks just pull the picture out of the company’s trashcan? Well, the CES 2014 is almost upon us, and the MWC after that.
