Nokia Lumia 720 priced in India, unofficially available for pre-order

Nokia Lumia 720

The latest Nokia device has received an unofficial listing as e-tailers have put up for sale the Nokia Lumia 720 in India. The detail, which has come out via online retailers, was not known earlier, the Nokia Lumia 720 price in India is marked at Rs. 18,999.

Anyway, now Flipkart has listed the Nokia Lumia 720 with a release date for the fourth week of April, although interested buyers can only pre-order the handset now in black and white. Those who do will receive a Sandisk 16GB memory card for free. The cyan, yellow and red options are not yet available to book, but those who would like more colorful choices can ask to be notified when they are in stock.

Smart Shoot Lens

Let’s take a quick look at what the Nokia Lumia 720 has to offer. First off, it will run on Windows Phone 8 bringing the live tile experience to users via a 4.3-inch IPS touch screen with a ClearBlack display, capable of putting out images and video at a WVGA resolution. It runs on a 1GHz dual core Snapdragon processor with just 512MB of RAM to supervise operations.

There is a 6.7MP camera on the rear with auto focus and a two-stage capture key. It uses a Carl Zeiss Tessar lens and an LED flash for clearer pictures, and is backed up by the Smart Shoot lens feature, something we’ve seen on the flagship 920. The online listing says there is secondary snapper with a wide angle lens of 1.3MP resolution which can capture in 720p HD.

Connectivity options include Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi and even NFC. Unfortunately, in keeping with the budget at which the phone is being made available, there isn’t the glamorous wireless charging, although it’s not necessary. A 2,000mAh battery (model number BP-4GW) has been included and the company says it is capable of 23.4 hours of talk time on 2G, a fantastic stat in itself. The only downside is that it isn’t removable.

8GB of in-built storage has been provided, and users can expand that by a further 64GB using a microSD card. The manufacturer also provides access to 7GB of free cloud storage. That’s about it for the hardware features, although it should be mentioned that the screen is protected by Corning Gorilla glass 2.

Camera Effects

Even though Flipkart is offering the Nokia Lumia 720 for pre-order and on 3, 6, or 9-month EMI schemes, other retailers such as Snapdeal, Infibeam, Saholic and HomeShop18 don’t have the gadget listed. Saholic does, but only has the option to notify interested parties when stock arrives.
