The Nokia Lumia 610, the ‘most affordable’ Windows Phone 7 device till date, has finally made its arrival in India after being officially unleashed in Asia back in April. The handset in question will be available for purchase starting tomorrow for a price of Rs. 12,999.
Classified as an entry-level smartphone, it comes equipped with various Nokia-exclusive applications such as Drive, Maps, Transit, App Highlights and much more. Running on the Windows Phone 7.5 platform, a Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 7227A SOC clocked at 800MHz takes care of computing needs. There’s also 256MB of RAM for smooth multitasking and a 3.7-inch capacitive TFT display with resolutions of 800 x 480 pixels for a rich visual experience.
“The Nokia Lumia 610 will introduce Windows Phone to a new generation of smartphone users, offering something very different to the monochromatic smartphones filling shelves today,” expressed Vipul Mehrotra, Director-Smart Devices, Nokia India. “It is designed to appeal to a more youthful audience purchasing their first smartphone and motivated by the opportunity to keep in touch with friends, family and all the latest information.”
On the connectivity front, the handset supports Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n standards, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR and HSDPA at 7.2Mbps. For hoarding content, users will have 8GB of storage at hand. There’s a 5MP AF camera with LED affixed to the rear. The device is designed around dimensions of 119.24mm x 62.18mm x 11.95mm and is capable of delivering approximately 9.5 hours of talktime or 720 hours of standby.
The Nokia Lumia 610 price in India sums up to Rs. 12,999, as previously noted. It will be available for purchase across the country starting tomorrow.
