Nokia has started a buy-back program of its own where it is offering the Lumia 1020 smartphone with a Rs 13,500 discount when you trade-in one of your old (or new) smartphones. There are, however, select handset models that are applicable for this offer.
If you wish to get the discount, you’ll need to produce the Q10 or Z10 from BlackBerry, any device from the main Galaxy S lineup, the first as well as second generation Note, or the Grand and Core handsets from Samsung. The Xperia Z portfolio from Sony is also applicable along with few devices from HTC, Micromax, Apple and LG. Nokia will also accept any one of its previous WP8 Lumias (except the 720, 520 and 620).
What’s interesting here is that the Rs 13,500 reduction is being offered against the original MRP which stands at a little below Rs 50,000. The new price will be Rs 36,499 which comes across as a great deal. You could get the handset for as low as Rs 39,999 via Flipkart that’s also accepting exchange of an old handset. The roster here is quite longer than that of Nokia’s and a discount of Rs 7,000 is being applied to the current Rs 46,999 price.
Let’s take a look at the specifications of the Lumia 1020:
– Windows Phone 8 OS
– 4.5-inch HD AMOLED display
– 1.5GHz dual core Snapdragon S4 processor
– 2GB RAM, 32GB storage
– 41MP PureView main camera, 1.2MP secondary webcam
– 2000mAh battery
The Smart Upgrade offer is also valid for the Lumia 925, 625, 720 and 520. The discount amounts vary from device. You can click here for a list of eligible devices under the promotion or head over to Flipkart to get the Lumia 1020 on exchange.
