Ok, so there’s been a bit of confusion on what the Nokia EOS will actually be called. On one side, reports say that it will carry the Lumia 1020 branding, while a recent leak has indicated that it would instead be simply known as the Nokia 909. But let’s ponder on that a bit later as we’ve got more exciting news to share – A price.
The guys over at WP Central recently received a screenshot which shows the inventory of upcoming devices at the Microsoft store. Sent by an anonymous tipster, the image which can be seen below shows the handset’s retail price that is pegged at $602. Apart from this, the leak also shares that the Nokia EOS will arrive drenched in 3 shades, namely yellow, black and white.
Additionally, the report points out that the date (7/22/2013) which is visible on the lower left of the image is when the store will revive the first stock of handsets. To spice things up, the Nokia EOS is listed as the Lumia 1020 and not the 909. Our feeling in this matter would be that either someone’s got the wrong information regarding the official name or everyone is right.
The only possible explanation we’ve got is that Nokia EOS is the codename, while Lumia 1020 will be a variant for AT&T, or so suggest various leaks. And for the 909, we’re going out on a limb here and speculating that this could be the global version, but don’t take our word for it.
The end game here is that like the 920’s bulky form factor, no one would care much if the upcoming flagship ands up being called the EOS, Lumia 1020 or 909. So we’ve got a price and where a release date is concerned, interested buyers should be able to purchase the handset within two weeks of it going official, which will happen on July 11.
