Nokia Asha software update reaches India with camera goodies, MixRadio and more

Following the start of its rollout earlier this month, the new Nokia Asha software update has finally made its way into devices in India. This upgrade to the feature phones will bless them with a few camera enhancements as well as support for services like MixRadio and Microsoft OneDrive.

Under its radar are the Asha 500, 501, 502, 503 and 230 phones. Prime among the new camera additions is a panorama mode, while there’s even a selfie-facilitating voice-guided self-portrait aspect which helps you click your own images through the rear camera.

The software update also introduces the Nokia MixRadio app aimed at bringing personalized music streaming to your Asha phones. This service allows you to download your playlists onto your devices for offline play.

Nokia has infused this update with support for Microsoft OneDrive as well, allowing owners of the above mentioned devices to access 7GB worth of free cloud storage. Besides, there are new improvements to fastlane which grant pop-ups for re-tweets, Facebook likes and birthday reminders.

Like we said, the Nokia Asha 500, 501, 502, 503 and 230 are the only devices eligible for this update. If you’re an owner of these feature phones and haven’t received a notification about this upgrade, head into the Phone Update section in Settings to manually download it.
