Owners of the Nokia Asha 500, 501, 502, 503 or 230 are in for a surprise because the Finnish company has started rolling out a major Nokia Asha software update for these devices. Along with bug fixes, the new firmware can be expected to tag along an improved music application, a better camera, OneDrive access and a lot more.
First up is the Nokia MixRadio application, a personalized music streaming service featuring million of tracks that lets you create your own mixes. You get the option to save these mixes on your phone for offline access as well. As for the camera, it has been loaded with some imaging enhancements and facilitates selfie-capturing in these devices lacking a front-facing snapper.
Thanks to voice-guided self portraits, all you need to do is turn your phone around and the phone will guide you to place it accurately for perfect selfies. A couple of other features such as panorama and video stabilization have also been introduced. Also, Microsoft is offering 7GB of storage free of charge and it is possible to automatically or manually transfer digital content to the cloud directly from the phone.
And if that’s not enough, Fastlane has been updated and you will see re-tweets, Facebook likes and birthday reminders in this app as well. And to make it safe for children, the company has added certain parental controls in addition to password and Pin protection for the browser and the app store.

The Nokia Asha software update is available now for both single and dual SIM versions of Asha 500, 501, 502, 503 and 230 phones. Visit ‘Phone Update’ in the Settings menu to check if it has reached your phone as yet or not.
