The Nokia Asha 500 that was supposed to be launched in India before the end of this month, hasn’t arrived officially as yet. But the feature phone has shown up on an online retailing website where it can be purchased for a price of Rs 4,649. Although the handset comes in multiple shades such as red, cyan, green and yellow apart from black and white, only the two last mentioned hues are currently in stock.
Apart from the 500, the Asha 502 is up for grabs through authorized retail channels as well as the Nokia eStore. And as for the Asha 503 that was launched along with these gadgets in October, it will be setting its foot in the subcontinent sometime in the month of January.
The Dual SIM phone has been packed within a chassis measuring 100.3 x 58.1 x 12.8 millimeters and weighs in at just a little over 101 grams. A 2.8-inch LCD Transflective touchscreen of 320 x 240p resolution and a pixel density of 142ppi sits on the front side. An accelerometer and a proximity sensor can also be found on the display.
It is based on the Nokia Asha software platform 1.1.1 and has been pre-loaded with some general security features. You can use the device for internet browsing and keep in touch with friends through social apps like Facebook, WhatsApp, WeChat, Line and many more. Additionally, it employs a 2MP primary camera and is powered by a 1200mAh battery for 2G talk time of about 14 hours.
