The Nokia Asha 308 handset which made its appearance along with the Asha 309 in September, is now available for purchase, with its price in India pegged below Rs. 6,000. This ‘ready for everything’ device is part of the Asha touch range and it packs in a host of features including dual SIM support.

Drenched in shades of gold and black, the chassis is 13mm thick and it measures 54mm in width and has a height of 109.9mm. The overall weight of the Asha 308 is 104 grams. Sitting pretty on the front is a 3-inch capacitive multi-touch display which proffers a resolution of 400 x 240 pixels. For entertainment, the company is offering 40 free EA games that can be download through the phone itself. Users can snap up stills at up to 4x digital zoom and record videos through the 2MP fixed focus camera.

On the memory front, the ROM amounts to 64MB, while the internal storage stands at 128MB. The handset arrives with a microSD card slot supporting up to 32GB of storage for hoarding needs. Connectivity features included here comprise of Bluetooth 3.0 and EDGE/GPRS data access over a 2G network. The embedded 1110mAh battery is said to render approximately 17 hours of talktime, up to 600 hours of standby or around 40 hours of music playback.

The company’s India website lists the device as ‘coming soon.’ However, potential buyers can pick up the Nokia Asha 308 for Rs. 5,685 which includes an 8% discount of Rs. 464 off the original Rs. 6,149 retail tag through the Nokia Indiatimes store. The handset can also be purchased on EMI-basis with options of 3 month or 6 months.
