The price and release date details for the Nokia Asha 205 are out and so are details for the company’s latest ‘exclusive’ feature, Slam. Dubbed as the ‘ultimate social phone,’ it comes loaded with a dedicated Facebook button for quick access to the SNS’s features, and options of single as well as dual SIM trays.
Where design matters, the Asha 205 is equipped with a 2.4-inch LCD display which portrays a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels. Resting just below the screen is a 4-row QWERTY keypad for quick text input. In terms of dimensions, it measures 112.8mm x 61.1mm x 13mm and tips the scales at 94 grams. The phone has 64MB of built-in storage and a microSD card slot supporting up to 32GB. The rear is fitted with 0.3MP camera for snapping up stills and recording videos.
Nokia’s been treating its handsets with a host of exclusive features and the latest one is a tool touted to enable quick file sharing over Bluetooth. The interesting part here is that it should work on month phones with the said connectivity attribute. Transferring content takes just a few clicks and it doesn’t need users to pair up both devices. Slam is, however, only limited to the single SIM variant. The entertainment features don’t stop there, the company is also offering 40 free EA Games that can be download through the Nokia Store along with a wide catalog of other applications.
The Nokia Life+ web app comes loaded for free along with the Life Skills and Live Healthy services and there are also screen notifications for eBuddy messenger to keep users updated with new conversations as they arrive. The dual SIM variant is equipped with the EasySwap technology which makes it convenient to replace cards sans the need to power off the device. The single SIM version can deliver up to 37 days of standby, while the dual option tops at 25 days.
The Nokia Asha 205 will be available in the US for approximately $62 excluding taxes and subsidies. The phone is scheduled to arrive in cyan, magenta and orange shades and it is expected to start shipping sometime during the fourth quarter of 2012.
