Introducing a range of 7 new mobiles and services in India, Nokia is all set to focus on ‘email, agriculture and education’ via its Nokia 7100 Supernova, 5130 XpressMusic, 2320 classic, 2323 classic, 2330 classic, 1202 and Nokia 1661.
The services include Mail on Ovi enabled on Nokia Series 40 devices and Nokia Life Tools.
Mail on Ovi makes it possible to create and access e-mail directly on the mobile phones without having to come in connection with a computer. The application will be released on Nokia Series 40 phones shipping in by the end of this year.
Nokia Life Tools will provide information on agriculture and education services specifically for the rural and small town communities. Information relevant to the aforementioned fields can be accessed by sending a simple SMS, eliminating the need of GPRS settings and coverage. The service will be made available by the first half of 2009 by Nokia initially on Nokia 2323 classic and the Nokia 2330 classic in India and later on expanded to other regions.

Nokia 7100 Supernova, the stylish phone with features like colourful looks, high-resolution screen, 1.3 mp camera, Nokia’s and other online photo sharing service, FM radio, Share on Ovi, Mail on Ovi. The phone will be shipping in by the end of 2008 and available for an estimated retail price of 75 EUR which is approximately Rs. 4,750.
Nokia 5130 XpressMusic is a multimedia phone here to entertain you with features like dedicated music keys, digital music player, FM radio, standard 3.5 mm connector for headphones, 2 mp camera, support for Share on Ovi and Mail on Ovi. So many features come packed for an unbelievable affordable ERP of 90 EUR (approximately Rs. 5,700).
The next in line are super-affordable Nokia 2320 classic, Nokia 2323 classic and Nokia 2330 classic available with the new Ovi and Life tools services. The 2330 comes equipped with a built in camera, FM radio capable of recording and Internet browser. The The Nokia 2320 classic and Nokia 2323 classic can be expected to hit the market by second quarter of 2009, for a price of 40 EUR i.e. approximately Rs.2,532. The Nokia 2330 classic can be expected in the same time frame for an ERP of 50 EUR ie Rs. 3 165.
Finally, the Nokia 1202 and Nokia 1661 at only 25 EUR (approximately Rs.1,582) and 30 EUR (approximately Rs.1,900) respectively, cheapest from the brand are aimed at rural areas and come with standard features. Both the phone boast of flashlight, extended battery life, loud ringtones and multiple phone books. Nokia 1661 is a colour phone. These can be expected in the market by the first quarter of 2009.
