We already know that the Nokia 808 PureView India launch is due for one of these days. Well, the company has put up an official website for the smartphone which features a countdown, probably to indicate the time left until the handset goes live in the country.
The PureView.in website was unveiled through the Nokia India Facebook page which stated ‘1 Picture. Many Stories. How many can you discover?’ This apparently means that each time someone visits the page, a quiz appears asking viewers a question based on a cropped picture. For instance, we were asked ‘Where do you think these sunglasses are lying?’ with a portion of the image bearing the glasses. Picking any one of the 3 selectable options and clicking ‘See the full picture’ redirects visitors to the countdown page. Here, the interested parties can submit their email addresses to stay updated with the latest information on what the company plans on releasing once the time hits zero, that’s on June 6.
What isn’t clear is that why the website possesses no concrete details pertaining to the launch of the 808 smartphone. In fact, this could be one of the Finland-based manufacturer’s contests. Here’s a little refresher on what the PureView handset will bring along – a 1.3GHz ARM 11 CPU is accompanied by the 41MP image sensor. Both components are complemented by 16GB of storage that can be expanded to 48GB and 512MB of RAM. Other features include a 4-inch touchscreen and 6.5 hours of 3G talktime or 540 hours of standby.
When we last checked, the countdown timer for the Nokia 808 PureView India launch stood at 81 hours and 48 minutes. The handset can be pre-ordered through the getnokia.in/Pureview website. According to NDTV Gadgets, the device should retail for Rs. 29,999.
