Nokia 6 (2017) gets another price cut ahead of Nokia 6 (2018) launch

Nokia 6 (2017)

The Nokia 6 (2017) has gotten yet another price cut, this time on the eve of the expected launch of the Nokia 6 (2018) in India. The latter is expected to come out at an event on April 4 alongside the Nokia 8 Sirocco, Nokia 7 Plus, and Nokia 8110 4G.

That makes this the perfect time for the Nokia 6 (2017) to become a bit cheaper, since the Nokia 6 (2018) will be taking its place as the company’s latest mid-ranger. The 32GB version of the former is being sold at Rs 12999 on Amazon India. This comes shortly after the phone got a Rs 1500 discount to Rs 13499 just over a month ago.

It seems HMD Global has decided to further reduce the rate by Rs 500 in an effort to make it more appealing to budget-conscious consumers. The company hasn’t actually announced the change, so it’s not clear if the cut is permanent or temporary. The brand’s site lists the handset at its original Rs 14999 cost.

It should be permanent, considering the 2018 edition of the Nokia 6 is on its way. The phone offers a couple of major upgrades such as 360-degree OZO Audio and Dual-Sight tech to compose Bothies. The latter allows the device to click photos from both the front and back cameras at the same time and place them side-by-side.

Specifications of the Nokia 6:

– OS: Android 7.1.1 Nougat (upgradable to Oreo)
– Display: 5.5-inch, 1080 x 1920 pixels
– CPU: octa-core Snapdragon 430
– Camera: 16MP rear, 8MP front
– Storage: 32GB/64GB, expandable up to 128GB
– RAM: 3GB/4GB
– Battery: 3000mAh
– Size: 154 x 75.8 x 7.85mm
– Connectivity: dual-SIM, Wi-Fi, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC, microUSB 2.0, USB OTG

There’s a 64GB iteration of the Nokia 6 (2017) as well, but it’s available at its original rate of Rs 16999 over on Flipkart without any discount.
