HMD Global has officially begun rolling out the Android 9.0 Pie update for the Nokia 6.1 all over the world. The company had promised to roll it out before the end of October. It’s made the deadline with just a day to spare, so kudos to it.

The brand’s Chief Product Officer, Juho Sarvikas, tweeted about the Nokia 6.1’s Android 9.0 rollout via Twitter. The firm had also vowed to release a slice of Pie for the Nokia 6.1 Plus by October. A Twitter user asked Sarvikas about this, to which the CPO replied that the “month is not over yet, still a good 24h left to keep our promise and deliver it in October.”

Going by this tweet, we can reasonably expect the Nokia 6.1 Plus’ Pie upgrade to come out soon, barring any major issues. The Nokia 7.1 Plus was notably the first Nokia phone to get a taste of Pie. The firm actually delayed the software for the device citing some bugs, but eventually made its target timeline.

Nokia 8 Android Pie Timeline

The Nokia 8 and Nokia 8 Sirocco are next in line for some Android Pie goodness. HMD Global said that the two will receive the OS in November, but didn’t specify when. The latter is reportedly being phased out to make way for the Nokia 9, but we can’t be sure of that yet.
