The Nokia 5.1 Plus has shown up on Geekbench and a Bluetooth certification site. It’s clear the phone is getting closer to a launch, but when this is going to happen isn’t clear yet.

To no one’s surprise, the Nokia 5.1 Plus has outperformed its previous variant on Geekbench. The older phone managed to score 677 in its single-core test and 2880 in its multi-core one. In contrast, the upcoming device scored 845 in its single-core test and 3261 in its multi-core one.

A lion’s share of the credit for this should be given to the Nokia 5.1 Plus’ octa-core MediaTek Helio P18 processor. It seems to be much faster than its predecessor’s Snapdragon 430 SoC. The new smartphone will probably get hold of 2GB and 3GB RAM variants to keep things running smoothly.

The 2GB RAM model will probably get paired with 16GB of ROM, while the 3GB option will likely have 32GB of ROM. In terms of photography, HMD Global might bestow it with an upgraded 16MP camera with dual LED flash. Even the display may be getting bigger and better with a 5.5-inch screen and an FHD+ resolution.

The Nokia 5.1 Plus’ Bluetooth certification doesn’t reveal much about the handset other than its Bluetooth 4.2 support and MediaTek chip. The listing doesn’t actually name the phone, but it does have the model number TA-1109. The same device has already gone through China’s CCC authority. Possible candidates include the Nokia 5.1 Plus and Nokia X5.

There are also a couple of other Nokia handsets in the works. The TA-1083 and TA-1116 have both popped up in Bluetooth certification listings. Rumor has it that these are variants of the Nokia X6, specifically the international models. The smartphone has only been released in China till now.

HMD Global has promised that a global version of the Nokia X6 is in the works, but hasn’t fixed a date for this yet. We’ll let you know once something more official gets announced.
