Market research firm NPD has announced the sales of gaming consoles in US for July 2008. As expected, Nintendo is leading in all the categories. According to sales recorded by NPD, over 608,000 units of Nintendo DS were sold in last month. While the Wii witnessed sales of 555,000 units.
However the Nintendo sales seem to have decreased as compared to the last month’s figures. Nintendo had topped the June 2008 chart last month with sales of 666,000 of Wiis and 783,000 of DS.
On the other hand Sony PlayStation is on the second position in the list of top selling home consoles. Nearly 225,000 PS3s were sold in US in the month of July. While Sony’s portable console, PSP recorded sales of 222,000.
Microsoft managed to sell 205,000 of Xbox 360 units, while the PlayStation 2 console sales were at 155,000 units.
