Out of all the rumors we’ve been hearing this week, the Nexus 5’s debut day is probably the most eagerly anticipated. But Sony fans also got their share of gossip with two new stories about an Xperia Tianchi and Xperia Z1S.
Nexus 5 release date:
We’ve been hearing lots of different things about when the Nexus 5 and KitKat will be launched. Since Google’s not going to give us a break and talk about its unveiling, leaks are the next best things to go after. The latest is that the phone will be out on October 31.
MobileSyrup has it on a tipster’s word that the handset will hit Google Play on the said date and then reach Rogers, Telus, Bell, Virgin and Koodo by November 7 or 8. We’ve seen it sport the Telus logo before and Mountain View also let it out through the Play Store recently.
The 16GB smartphone’s $349 price was noted before the page was pulled from the website. If you’re looking to buy it, a 2.3GHz quad core Snapdragon 800 processor, 16GB/32GB memory, an 8MP camera and 2GB RAM may be on the cards. We could also welcome a 4G LTE flavored Nexus 4 on October 31.
Sony Xperia Z1S and Tianchi:
Unwired View cites MyDrivers as the source of the news while talking about the upcoming Xperias. The Z1S is apparently none other than the Z1 f (or the Z1 mini). The name change could have something to do with it being readied for a launch in China and the release day may fall on November 12.

As for the Xperia Tianchi, it’s apparently going to be a 6-inch handset and a low cost one at that. It is expected to embed an honest-to-goodness 8 core MediaTek chip which won’t be like Exynos’ two quad core processors bundled together. We’ll know more about this one too on November 12.
