16GB Nexus 4 stock runs out on US Play store, won’t be restocked

The day has finally come where LG’s 16GB Nexus 4 has gone out of stock on the Play store and just like the 8GB variant, this one won’t be coming back for sale again. According to a report, Google is done selling the current flagship in the US which probably means that a follow up for the smartphone is on the horizon.

Earlier this month, we reported that the 8GB version of the Nexus 4 went out of stock on the Play store. And since Google didn’t have plans to bring in more inventory, it was certain that the 16GB version would face the same faith. The device is said to be still available via the Play store in other countries, but The Verge notes that there’s no chance of it coming back in stock ones all units are sold. The current actions suggest that a new flagship is on its way and we’ve already seen the possible device multiple times now. It looks like LG will be the brains behind the next Nexus which, based on previous leaks, goes by the model number D820.

Nexus 5

What we know so far is that the device will have a 4.96-inch touchscreen, probably with 1080p resolution, a Snapdragon 800 processor and a large image sensor on the rear as the image above and below indicates. Thanks to the FCC filings, we’ve also learnt that the Nexus 5 will measure 131.9 x 68.2 millimeters as well as support GSM, WCDMA, EV-DO, LTE and TD-LTE networks. Qi wireless charging, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi ac and GPS are onboard as well.

The Nexus 5 will go official with Android KitKat that’s not expected to be unveiled anytime before October.
