Super slim and lightweight is what the next generation of Samsung Series 9 laptops are claimed to be. And they aren’t up for grabs just yet. The South Korea-based company will be unleashing this reworked notebook range comprising of a 13.3-inch and a 15-inch model, starting 27 February, 2012.
Equipped with a 128GB SSD and an Intel Core i5 2467M processor, both laptops are likely to boot up in just 9.8 seconds or wake up from standby in around 1.4 seconds. Transferring data from an old computer is apparently hassle-free with the Easy Migration software. Connectivity-wise, it includes USB 3.0 ports and a multi-card reader for accessing videos, audio and various other types of data. In addition to all these attributes, the 13.3-inch and 15-inch models are capable of delivering battery life for up to 7 hours and 10 hours, respectively.
Todd Bouman, vice president of product marketing at Samsung Enterprise Business Division, commented, “When designing the new Series 9, we focused on improving key elements that our customers loved in the original award winning Series 9, including the sophisticated, lightweight design. Our engineers worked very hard to develop the amazingly thin form factor and one of the most compact chassis in the world, which allowed us to house a 15-inch display in a 14-inch chassis. We also made changes to the new model based on customer feedback, such as the inclusion of a 1600 x 900 high resolution screen, to truly make this a top-of-the line, irresistible laptop that represents the ultimate in Samsung precision engineering and premium design.”
Claimed to be 37% thinner and around 0.4 pounds lighter than its predecessor, this newly launched Samsung Series 9 laptop range flaunts a single-shell, fingerprint-resistant aluminum body. Both notebooks house Samsung’s SuperBright Plus technology and portray a resolution of 1600 x 900 pixels along with 400nit display brightness.
The next-generation Samsung Series 9 price tags read as $1,399.99 for the 13.3-inch model and $1,499.99 for the 15-inch variant. Both laptops will be available on 27 February, 2012 through authorized resellers and distribution channels.
