Along with the fresh lineup of Toshiba Qosmio and Satellite laptops, the Toshiba Excite series has received a few entrants as well. The new tablets comprise of the 7.7”, 10.1” and 13.3” variants and run on the Android Ice Cream Sandwich platform.
Built in 3 different screen sizes, the latest Excite tablet range features a scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass protective coating and an aluminum casing which portrays a sturdy form factor. It comes with an intuitive UI delivered by the Android 4.0 OS and a suite of applications from Google. Powering these offerings is the Nvidia Tegra 3 quad core processor for enhanced performance with extended battery life. Other components include a 5MP primary snapper and a 2MP front-facing camera as well as a stereo speaker system with sound enhancement technologies from the company and SRS Labs.
“One size does not fit all, so we are carefully considering how and where people are using tablets and designing form factors to best suit various needs. With amazingly thin and light designs, our new Excite family of tablets continues to incorporate what consumers have come to love about Toshiba tablets: essential ports for a more complete tablet computing experience plus durability that ensures they can go the distance,” expressed Carl Pinto, vice president of product development, Toshiba America Information Systems, Digital Products Division.
Moving onto specifics, the Excite 10 and 13 tablets feature an AutoBrite display with 1280 x 800p and 1600 x 900p resolutions, respectively. The 7.7-inch variant incorporates an AMOLED screen.
