Yesterday, Opera released a new method to access Web sites in a fast and easy manner. Called speed Dial, this service allows users to transform their top nine favorite Web sites into visual favorites that are immediately available in any new tab.
This new Speed Dial feature is available in the Opera 9.2 free downloadable software from www.opera.com. Opera has recommended Opera 9.2 with Speed Dial as a recommended security upgrade.
According to Jon von Tetzchner, CEO, Opera, “Speed Dial is a fresh way to call up the top sites you enjoy throughout the day. It’s a cool, new way to access those sites- you can do it through the Speed Dial or enter the corresponding number in the address bar. I hope current and new Opera users find Speed Dial both enjoyable and addictive.”
Opera 9.2 with the new Speed Dial feature is available for Windows, Mac and Linux. It comes in 31 languages as well.
This move seems to be an attempt on the part of Opera to distinguish itself from rivals such as Microsoft’s Internet Explorer and Mozilla’s FireFox.
