The supposed Samsung Galaxy F smartphone which is also known by many names – Galaxy Alpha, S5 Prime, S5 LTE-A and SM-G750 – has made its appearance through new images. Unlike the previous renders, the latest ones are of the smartphone in the wild and not for press purposes, which make them all the more believable.
The thing about press renders is that anyone with the right skills can whip them up – You probably remember the Sony Nexus X that was nothing more than the work of a graphics designer. Now while the Samsung Galaxy F moniker may not stick around for long, the images sent to PhoneArena by an anonymous tipster are clearly of an unannounced smartphone. Firstly, they look almost identically to the Galaxy S5, but there are noticeable differences.
The leaked handset has a brushed metal rear panel while the flagship phone has a pimpled texture. Previous reports have highlighted that swappable panels with different designs are already available on the market, but if you move on to the front, you’ll notice that the bezels are super thin, while the ones on the original S5 are thicker. The phone is clearly taller than 5 inches and the USB port on the rear features a flap which means that the water-resistant design will stay. The heart rate monitor and fingerprint reader will also be part of this premium smartphone.
Here are the alleged specs of the Samsung Galaxy F:
– 1440 x 2560 QHD display, 5.3 – 5.5 inches
– Android 4.4 KitKat
– Snapdragon 805 SOC
– 16MP rear camera with OIS
Samsung is holding an event in the next few days where we expect to see the premium Galaxy Tab S line go official. There is a possibility of seeing the Samsung Galaxy F handset make an appearance as well,.
