There’s a new Lenovo Vibe Shot smartphone in the works and this phone will be a lower specked version of the original release. The handset has been spotted under the model number Z90-7 and has received certification for sale in China.
The original Lenovo Vibe Shot was launched around a month back as a mid-range camera-centric smartphone. And while the imaging hardware remains the same on the new model, the company has made a few modifications to the other components. The main change here is that the 5-inch LCD panel no longer offers FHD visuals.
Instead, it’ll be a 720p HD screen with no change to the size. Apart from this, the processor which is the 1.5GHz octa core Snapdragon 615 has been replaced with an octa core MediaTek MT6753 64-bit SOC which has global 4G LTE support. Design-wise, the Lenovo smartphone will look identical to the original. But the TENAA listing highlights that it will be a tad thicker and heavier at 7.6mm and 145 grams.
As mentioned above, no changes have been made to the camera components which include a 16MP rear snapper with 3x LED flash and an 8MP front shooter. Also, the memory provisions go untouched at 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage.
New Lenovo Vibe Shot variant’s specs:
– Android 5.0 Lollipop
– 1.7GHz octa core MediaTek MT6753 processor
– 5-inch 720p HD touchscreen
– 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage
– 16MP rear camera, 8MP front shooter
– 2900mAh battery
The main purpose of the new Lenovo Vibe Shot variant is probably to deliver a more affordable product and it’s highly likely that this version will be exclusive to certain markets.
