Just a couple of days back we spotted the SM-J100 a.k.a Samsung Galaxy J1 smartphone in a UAProf agent on the company’s website, thus confirming the handset’s existence. And now, a reliable source has come forward with a load of information on the device, revealing more than what previous benchmark websites disclosed.
SamMobile is the source of the new details on the Samsung Galaxy J1 which will reportedly be the first handset in the new series. You’re probably wondering why the company wants to call the phone ‘J1’ instead of just ‘J’ and that’s mainly because a device with the same name already exists within the confines of China.
The smartphone will be an entry-level one offering basic hardware, but it will have a good processor which is a 1.2GHz quad core Marcell PXA1908 chipset with 64-bit support. Previous rumors highlighted that the phone would carry a 4.8-inch display, but the new leak points to a smaller 4.3-inch panel.
The jury is still out on the actual screen size, but we do know that it’ll proffer WVGA 800 x 480 pixel visuals. Another nice feature onboard the Galaxy J1 is that it will have LTE connectivity and probably come in a dual SIM option as well.
