Facebook Messenger for Android may soon get an update that will tag along a set of new features that the SNS has already started testing. Zuckerberg and company believe that more and more people are connecting with their friends on the social network from their mobile phones and thus they need an app that is not only faster and reliable, but also lighter compared to the current version.
First and foremost, Facebook is coming up with ways to make sure that messages reach people faster than earlier. So as soon as users log into the application, they will find the Messenger icon being displayed next to the names of the people who are online. And it goes without saying that subscribers will be notified as soon as they receive a message.
And we are not surprised to hear that the application will get a new look as well. Apart from making the interface more eye-pleasing, the social network is trying its best to make it easy to use. Very soon it will be possible to go to settings, take a look at a list of people you message frequently and even see recent conversations by tapping across the top or swiping left or right on the screen.
But that’s not all. Facebook is introducing an attribute that will allow you to connect with people who are not in your friend list through Messenger. You will need the person’s mobile number for the same and will have to get yours registered to facilitate texting. It looks like Facebook is challenging all the instant messaging services like WhatsApp, Viber, BBM, Line and others which work pretty much like this.
The new Facebook Messenger for Android app is currently being tested by some users of the application.
