Apple today unveiled its new iPod nano and iPod Touch devices. The 4th generation iPod nano is the slimmest member of the iPod family and sports a sleek new design with a curved aluminum and glass enclosure. While, the new iPod Touch comes with a thin contoured metal design.
The new iPod nano promises to deliver 24 hours of music playback or four hours of video playback. It features a two-inch display with a gorgeous curved aluminum and glass enclosure.
The new Apple nano is now available worldwide immediately in a capacities of 8 GB and 16 GB. The iPod nano is available in silver, purple, blue, green, orange, yellow, pink, red and black colors. The 8 GB iPod nano is priced $149 while the 16 GB model costs $199.
On the other hand, the new version of the iPod Touch is smaller and lighter than its original version. The latest model of the Touch features contoured metal enclosure with integrated volume control buttons, 3.5-inch widescreen glass display, integrated volume control buttons, a built-in speaker for casual listening and a built-in accelerometer.
Apple claims that with the rounded edges, flush display and curved, more compact design, the new iPod Touch is more comfortable to hold and more portable than before.
Moreover the device features built-in Nike + iPod support making it an ideal workout companion.
Speaking about new iPod Touch Apple’s CEO Steve Jobs said, “iPod touch is the funnest iPod we’ve ever created. Users can listen to millions of songs, watch thousands of Hollywood movies and now, thanks to the App Store, download and play hundreds of great games on their iPod touch.”
Both the new iPods are compatible with new iTunes 8 Genius, allowing users to automatically create playlists while on the go.
The new iPod Touch is available in three capacities 8 GB, 16 GB and 32 GB. They are priced at $229, $299 and $399 respectively.
