The Nautiz X1 a rugged smartphone, manufactured by a Swedish company called Handheld Group has already started shipping, but its price has not been let out as yet. Interested users can either contact the company or local service providers for details to lay their hands on the device. According to the OEM, in spite of being sturdy, the phone continues to be packed in a slim and lightweight chassis and comes in handy for both work and play.
The first batch of the device that is available across the globe, is said to have already been sold out. It has acquired the IP67 ingress protection rating for dust and water resistance and it even meets MIL-STD-810G military test standards for withstanding humidity, shock, vibration and even extreme temperature conditions.
As we said, the phone is lightweight considering that it tips the scales as 180 grams. A 4-inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen of 800 x 480p resolution graces the front side and is reinforced with a Corning Gorilla Glass coating for resisting scratches. A 5MP camera complete with features like auto focus and LED flash lays its claim on the rear panel.
The smartphone either runs the Android Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0 platform or the Windows Embedded Handheld 6.5 OS. A 1GHz dual core processor works in conjunction with 1GB of RAM and is responsible for maintaining smooth multitasking at all times. The device compatible with both GSM and CDMA networks draws power from a 1530mAh battery and even uses an optional 3060mAh pack for extra usage time.
