Carrying forward the recent craze of offering ridiculously cheap smartphones is the Namotel Acche Din handset which will be sold by its maker at Rs 99. The device is said to be available for pre-booking up to May 25 via its maker’s official site which doesn’t seem to be working.
Apparently, while it was up and running, this website revealed the Namotel Acche Din to actually be priced at Rs 2999, but it’s being offered at a discount at Rs 99. It will only be sold on a Cash on Delivery basis in India, with nominal delivery charges added to the mix.
The Rs 99 smartphone comes with a 4-inch display placed on its front surface. It has been blessed with the Android 5.1 Lollipop OS moreover. Namotel has equipped it with a 1.3GHz quad core processor that’s paired with 1GB worth of RAM.
A clear look at the main specs of the new Namotel Acche Din:
– Display: 4-inch, 480 x 800 pixels
– OS: Android 5.1 Lollipop
– Processor: 1.3GHz quad core
– Memory: 1GB RAM, 4GB storage (expandable up to 32GB)
– Cameras: 2MP rear, VGA front
As for storage, 4GB worth of space has been granted to the Acche Din, aside from a microSD card slot for further expansions of up to 32GB. This device happens to be a dual SIM 3G phone which even packs a dual camera setup on its body. While a 2MP snapper sits on its back, a VGA shooter finds space on its front.
There has been a rise in the launches of such devices ever since Ringing Bells broke onto this scene with its Freedom 251 smartphone which is priced at Rs 251. After that phone, the Docoss X1 came into the picture with its Rs 888 price tag.
And now it’s turn for the Namotel Acche Din to grab its share of limelight and to be forgotten within a few days, as is the case with such devices.
