MySpace has introduced MySpace Music, an online music store which will sell digital music as well as concert tickets and merchandise. For the new venture MySpace has partnered with big music companies such as Sony BMG, Warner Music and Warner Music Group.
The MySpace Music will also act as a great collection of artist profiles, tour dates, artist blogs, music videos and artist photos.
MySpace Music will let users share and purchase music and merchandise at one place for their digital music player. Further, the personalized music management product offers users to control their entire MySpace Music experience directly from their user page by creating playlists. It also gives an access to enhanced purchase opportunities and search functionality.
Moreover for the labels’ artists, the new MySpace Music offers an opportunity to reach to their fans with digital content such as mobile ringtones, SMS, and artist wallpapers, all directly from artist profiles. Apart from their music, artists are also capable of selling physical goods such as t-shirts and concert tickets.
MySpace Music integrates new content and music capabilities across three primary areas including the MySpace Music home page, the site’s 5 million plus artist profile pages, and individual user home pages. Hence bands and users are delivered multiple touch points to discover, share, and purchase music and merchandise.
Also MySpace Music empowers unprecedented digital music service and e-commerce platform within MySpace that will include DRM-free digital downloads, ad-supported audio and video streaming, a mobile storefront (powered by News Corporation’s Jamba mobile company), as well as various sponsorship solutions.
MySpace Music is expected to have 30 million unique monthly visitors for the Music channel and its 5 million plus artists.
MySpace Music is now available online and users can visit it at http://www.music.myspace.com.
