Going one step forward towards Firfox 3, Mozilla has introduced Released Candidate 2 for Windows, Mac and Linux. The RC 2 offers better security, improved performance, more personal and easy-to-use features.
The new release offers security attributes such as malware protection, web forgery protection page, anti-virus integration, better protection against cross-site JSON data leaks, Vista parental controls etc.
In addition, the Firefox 3 RC 2 also promises to deliver better speed for surfing and better reliability with user’s bookmarks, history, cookies and preferences. Such information will now be stored in secure database format, preventing data loss even in case of system crash.
Also, Mozilla is offering better personal features through the Firefox 3.0 RC 2. For example, users just have to type in all or part of the title, tag or address of a page to see the matches from history and bookmarks. While new display makes scanning through the matching results and finding that page user is looking for easy.
Besides, the new Smart Bookmarks will enable the categorization of user’s folders by several criteria, such as the most frequently visited, recently bookmarked and recently tagged websites.
Also, RC 2 has fixed few bug issues that were found earlier. The RC 2 version of Firefox 3.0 is made available only for testing purposes, claims Mozilla. Users can download Firefox 3.0 RC 2 from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-rc.html.
