Earlier we reported about the Firefox 3 Release Candidate 3 which had been offered by Mozilla for building a better version of its popular browser. Now Mozilla is all set to make the Firefox 3 available to the public for download, for a better, safer and faster version of the browser.
The latest Firefox version has been released approximately in 50 languages and is three times faster than its predecessor. Besides, it offers more than 15,000 improvements, which includes smart location bar, malware protection, and extensive under the hood work that improves the speed and performance of the browser.
The new smart location bar adapts to user preferences and offers better fitting matches over time. While the One-click bookmarking and tagging make searching and organizing websites easier.
On the other hand, the newly introduced full-page zoom makes the web page up close and readable, within no time.
Firefox 3 is built on the new Gecko 1.9 platform, making the browser a safer and user friendly product. Another key feature of the latest browser is that it uses lesser memory than Firefox 2 when it’s running.
Moreover, it offers malware and phishing protection, which protects the computer from viruses, worms, trojans and spyware.
Users can also customize their browser with more than 5,000 add-ons. These add-ons will allow users to manage various tasks such as participating in online auctions, uploading digital photos, seeing the weather forecasts, and listening to music etc. Even an Add-ons Manager is provided with the browser that finds and installs add-ons directly from the browser.
“We’re really proud of Firefox 3 and it just shows what a committed, energized global community can do when they work together,” said John Lilly, CEO of Mozilla.
Mozilla Firefox 3 is available now for download on the popular OS Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X for free at http://www.getfirefox.com.
