After it was unveiled for sale in Mexico early last month, the Moto G Turbo Edition is all set to make its way into India now. This slightly overpowered variant of the third-gen Moto G will be hitting India this week, but there’s still no word on what price tag it will be carrying.
Motorola is currently using its Twitter account to tease the arrival of this handset in many ways. In a tweet it released yesterday, it said that the launch of the Moto G Turbo Edition is 3 days away. This means that we can expect it to be showcased in India on Thursday, December 9.
This offering runs on the octa core CPU-equipped Snapdragon 615 chipset rather than the quad core CPU-bearing Snapdragon 410 model which can be found inside the third-gen Moto G. It houses a 5-inch display alright, but raises the resolution to 1080p full HD from 720p HD.
Another important aspect about this Motorola offering is that it features IP67 certification, and is able to survive water submersion for up to 30 minutes. It plays home to a 2470mAh battery which supports the company’s Turbo Charging technology for quick charging. It strangely runs Android 5.1 Lollipop rather than Android 6.0 Marshmallow, but is sure to receive an update in the future.
A neat look at the main specs of the new Motorola Moto G Turbo Edition:
