Motorola Moto Turbo is what the Moto Maxx will be called in India, preorders open

After a lot of teasing, the Motorola Moto Turbo smartphone will be made available for purchase in India next week. In fact, you can go and pre-order the handset right away as it has already been listed on Flipkart along with a price tag of Rs 41999.

That amount is quite an attractive one and it also makes the Motorola Moto Turbo slightly cheaper than the Google Nexus 6. Where features are concerned, both phones offer very similar hardware and also run on the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop OS with a bloat-free experience. The handset in question is also known as the Moto Maxx in Latin America and the Droid Turbo on Verizon.

We really don’t know why Motorola opted for a different name on the handset for its launch in India, but it’s no different from the other variants. Like the Galaxy S6 from Samsung, this device offers a 5.2-inch 2K Super AMOLED display and there’s Gorilla Glass protection as well. And on the rear, the company has used DuPont Kevlar fiber for extra durability and has also thrown in a nice texture for an attractive finish.

Adding to the ruggedness is a water-repellent nano-coating which covers the entire Moto Turbo and also the interior. The phone packs a 2.7GHz quad core Snapdragon 805 processor along with 3GB RAM and 64GB storage. There’s also a 2MP front camera, a 21MP rear shooter and a 3900mAh battery with turbo charge support.
