A couple of days back we reported that Motorola is working on a new affordable smartphone under the model number XT102X and thanks to another leak, we’ve got information that the device will carry the Moto E branding. The smartphone is said to come in three variants, one single SIM, the second dual SIM and the third with support for digital TV and two SIM card slots as well.
While the initial rumor highlighted that the Motorola Moto E was headed to Brazil, the new one suggests that the phone will also go on sale in Mexico in the coming weeks. Xataka has managed to get their hands on a banner image which shows the phone’s branding and there are new specs available as well.
The Motorola Moto E was said to have just 4GB of storage and unlike its larger siblings, the company will throw in a microSD card slot for expansion. The device will have a screen size of 4.3 inches and while there’s no information on the resolution, PhoneArena still suggests the possibility of an HD panel. Android 4.4.2 KitKat will be available out of the box and the phone will be powered by a 1.2GHz dual core processor. Design-wise, the phone will look very similar to the Moto G, but a lot thinner. The thickness has been pegged at just 6.2mm.
Here are the key specs of the Motorola Moto E XT102X:
– Android 4.4 KitKat
– 1.2GHz dual core processor
– 1GB RAM, 4GB storage
– 5MP rear camera
– 1900mAh battery
– 124.8mm x 64.8mm x 6.2mm dimensions
Motorola will continue to offer customization options with the Moto E as well. The device will go on sale in black and white shades with swappable rear covers in different hues available separately. As for price, the handset could retail for around $267, but the official amount is yet to be confirmed.
