Call it a Droid or by any other name, the Motorola Milestone X2 smartphone is all dressed up and ready for C Spire Wireless. The handset happens to go by the moniker Droid X2 through Verizon Wireless and it will launch with the Android 2.3 OS.

A quick run of the tech specs throws up a 4.3-inch, scratch resistant and anti-reflective HD touchscreen and a 1GHz dual core processor. Embedded on the back panel is an 8MP camera with continuous auto focus and 720p video capturing capabilities. Then there’s a Gallery application which lets users look through, tag and post images to sites like Facebook or Flickr from one convenient place.

“Whether you’re a consumer or a business professional, the Motorola X2 is a device that can provide the ultimate personalized wireless experience,” averred Sherry Stegall, senior vice president of Sales and Customer Operations at C Spire Wireless. “With its enterprise-ready security and IT-grade policies and rich media features, the Motorola X2 is perfect for work or play.”

This slab of Gingerbread supplements the input option with a virtual QWERTY keypad featuring Swype technology. It’s got an HDMI output connection which delivers the Mirror Mode ability for splashing content onto larger screens. 8GB internal memory, skills in the direction of mobile hotspot capability and access to a suite of Google Mobile services also appear among the key features of the Milestone X2.

C Spire Wireless has chalked out the Motorola Milestone X2 price to be $99.99 after a $50 reward card. That’s provided customers sign on the dotted line over a new two-year agreement coupled with data service plans.
