Successors to the Electrify and Defy smartphones, the Motorola Electrify 2 and Defy XT U.S. Cellular have dropped anchor in the US. While the former is already available through the official website and company-owned stores, the latter is slated to hit store shelves starting tomorrow.
The 8.4mm-thick Electrify 2 comes with Kevlar fiber and a splash-guard coating for resisting spills and splashes. It flaunts a 4.3-inch ColorBoost multi-touch display and packs in a 1.2GHz dual core processor to facilitate multitasking on the move. Additionally, this ICS-based device has been armed with an 8MP rear-facing camera with features like an LED flash and the ability to record 1080p high definition videos. Like most other Motorola handsets, it is loaded with the SmartActions app too.
“Customers who purchase Motorola Electrify 2 or Defy XT will not only enjoy a new cutting-edge Android-powered smartphone, but will also get the best customer experience. A mobile phone should make life simpler and easier to get things done and U.S. Cellular believes the customer relationship with their wireless carrier should be the same,” stated Edward Perez, vice president of sales and marketing operations for U.S. Cellular.
Next up is the Defy XT, a durable Android smartphone capable of withstanding water, dust as well as scratches. The front panel of this device is dominated by a 3.7-inch touchscreen along with a webcam, while the flip side sports a 5MP camera for capturing videos and still shots. Needless to say, it lets users access web as well as download applications from the Google Play store.
The Motorola Defy XT U.S. Cellular price is yet to be disclosed. The Electrify 2 is now available for $179.99 after $100 mail-in rebate. Both devices require a two-year customer agreement and an applicable data plan, each.
