Lenovo is planning to launch its Moto Z series of smartphones in India sometime during the country’s upcoming festive season. The lineup made its international debut back in June this year with the Moto Z and Moto Z Force.
The Moto Z Play later joined the family just a few weeks ago. Lenovo India Executive Director Mobile Business Group Sudhin Mathur told PTI that the company is looking to launch 8 new devices including the Moto Z in the festive season. 6 of the products have already been announced.
Mathur chose not to declare the exact details of the Moto Z’s availability in India. However, sources say it could be launched in the first or second week of October. The main hallmark of the lineup is its modular abilities thanks to support for Moto Mods.
These accessories allow buyers to customize the Moto Z in various ways. They just have to attach any of them to the back of the handset in order to grant the phone additional powers. For instance, the JBL SoundBoost mod adds loudspeakers, the Hasselblad True Zoom mod enhances photography, and the Power Pack mod adds more power instantly.
Motorola hasn’t announced the Indian price details for its flagship series yet. The Moto Z costs $624 (approx Rs 41827), Moto Z Force goes for $720 (roughly Rs 48261), and Moto Z Play retails for $499 (about Rs 33448). The Moto Mods start upwards of $59.99 (approx Rs 4021) and go up to $299.99 (around Rs 20108).
