Moto X with bamboo rear launched on Flipkart for Rs 24,999

The Motorola Moto X has been well accepted in India, even with the Moto Maker tool not being accessible, and it’s now being offered in a third wooden option, bamboo. Flipkart has the smartphone listed online and it’s selling the device for Rs 24,999 which is Rs 1,000 cheaper that the MRP.

The original price for the wooden versions is Rs 25,999 and a discount is currently being applied for a limited time period. Flipkart initially launched the smartphone in walnut and teak options. The bamboo edition is the only one from the four options to be made from the real thing. The other options are merely treated to look like the said finishes. This was done to simplify the production and also reduce costs.

Just a couple of days back, Motorola dropped the walnut option from its Moto Maker tool in the US. The wooden back was replaced with a previously unreleased finish, rosewood, which is available for the same $25 surplus charge. It’s unclear whether this option will make it to India. Also, the walnut finish is still in stock on Flipkart.
