The Moto G5 Plus has popped up on a Romanian site where a seller is trying to vend what appears to be a prototype of the handset that bears the marking ‘Motorola Confidential Property. Not For Sale.’ The listing includes a detailed run down of the specs and hands-on photos of the phone.
Intriguingly, the live images of the alleged Moto G5 Plus look just like previously leaked snapshots and renders of the Moto X (2017). Both even feature a Moto Z-esque design. This could mean that the earlier pictures were of the G5 Plus all along.
The theory makes sense to a certain extent since past rumors and the new listing suggest that the smartphone in question possess mid-range specs which is more in line with the Moto G series rather than the more high-end Moto X lineup. Moreover, the device has been listed under the model number XT1685 which has been bandied about as a possible name for the G5 Plus.
Going by the seller’s claims, the Motorola phone will carry a 5.5-inch 1080p screen and run on Android 7.0 Nougat. It might be powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor. The SoC may work in tandem with an Adreno 506 GPU, 32GB of ROM, and 4GB of RAM to get things done.
As for its photography skills, the Moto G5 Plus is apparently getting furnished with a 13MP rear and 5MP selfie camera. A 3080mAh battery keeps the lights on and a fingerprint scanner embedded within the home button adds another layer of security.
Motorola is supposedly planning to release the Moto G5 Plus in March 2017. We’ll keep you updated on the smartphone as and when more details drop in.
