Moto G sold out on Flipkart, new stock arrives today [Update: Limited stock available]

Motorola has officially re-entered the Indian market and it did so a bang. Its Moto G smartphone which went on sale yesterday has already gone out of stock on Flipkart where it’s being offered exclusively for the moment. If you haven’t managed to reserve a unit, don’t be disappointed as new stock will be available this afternoon.

The Moto G was also up for pre-order on Snapdeal where the retailer witnessed over 1000 bookings in just a span of 2 hours. Both 8GB and 16GB models are listed as sold out and no release date has been provided to those who have already reserved a unit. For the impatient few out there, the smartphone can also be purchased through eBay India and other shopping portals, but we wouldn’t recommend going down that road as these handsets are likely imported ones and have premium price tags.

Moto G

The Moto G is the cheaper version of the company’s Moto X which isn’t likely to officially go on sale in India or any other location apart the US and the UK. The device features the same stylish design as its larger sibling and it also comes with a few customization options which include back panels of different shades.

Here are the handset’s specs:

– Android 4.4 KitKat
– 1.2GHz quad core Snapdragon 400 SOC
– 1GB RAM; 8GB or 16GB storage
– 4.5-inch 720p HD IPS LCD touchscreen
– Dual SIM support, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth
– 5MP rear camera, 1.3MP front webcam
– 2070mAh Li-ion battery
– 129.9mm x 65.9mm x 11.6mm dimensions
– 143 grams weight

Flipkart notes that new stock of the Moto G will be available this afternoon. The prices are Rs 12,499 for 8GB and Rs 13,999 for 16GB.

Update: Flipkart has announced that the handset is available, but in limited stock.
