Motorola has finally pulled the covers off its new Moto E3, dishing out some fresh details about the Moto G4 Play along the way. The handsets are going to hit the UK in early September and mid-August, respectively.
The Moto E3 is very similar in terms of specs when compared against the Moto G4 Play. The former is set to be available at £99 (roughly $131 or Rs 8800), while the latter will go up for sale at £129 (around $170 or Rs 11500). The new smartphone’s cost makes it the cheapest offering from Motorola’s 2016 lineup of phones so far.
Motorola has showered the device with a number of significant upgrades while still maintaining the same affordable price tag and basic design aesthetic as its predecessor. The handset’s front surface has gone from a smaller 4.5-inch panel to a bigger 5-inch one. The Lenovo-owned brand has also equipped the display with a built-in smudge-resistant screen protector.

Moreover, the Moto E3 runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and packs 8GB of internal storage. Its insides have been protected by a layer of water repellent splash-proof nano coating. Things get a bit murky when it comes to the device’s processing power, since the company has chosen not to reveal anything about the SoC other than it being a quad-core setup.
The Motorola product has also gotten a slight boost in the battery department thanks to a larger 2800mAh powerhouse. As for its camera, the manufacturer has blessed it with an 8MP rear snapper accompanied by LED flash. The module is paired alongside a 5MP front-facing shooter.
